Belfry’s EcoPod wins renewable technology award

A heating system that was designed and built in the North West has won another prestigious industry award to add to its collection.

The Ecopod stiff competition to take home ‘Most Innovative Use of Renewable Technology’ at the Housing Innovation Awards in London.

Keith Rimmer, Managing Director of the Warrington-based Belfry Group, designed the system to overcome fuel poverty within high-rise tower blocks.

The system has already been fitted in a number of tower blocks across the North West, which has led to savings of up to 43 per cent in fuel costs and CO2 emissions. 

The Ecopod has previlusly won the Project of the Year at the prestigious Heating and Ventilation Awards, Environmental Initiative of the Year and highly commended in the category for Industrial/Commercial Heating Product of the Year.
