Baxi has responded to findings in recent research with the launch of the Baxi Boiler Efficiency Calculator – a tool designed to aid installers when illustrating the potential savings a homeowner can make when they replace their boiler.
The Baxi-led research highlighted that one of the key concerns facing homeowners today, and in turn installers, was rising fuel bills. Up until this point, installers have had very few resources available to them to demonstrate to homeowners the difference an A-rated, high efficiency boiler could make.
The facts and figures that are generally available are based on a generic sized house, one which is not necessarily representative of many UK homes.
The Baxi Boiler Efficiency Calculator takes into account many details which are specific to the home in question, such as property type, size, roof insulation thickness, current boiler and the heating controls in place. The homeowner or installer then selects the Baxi boiler they are looking to install as a replacement. All of these details, and more, are then evaluated to produce an actual figure to demonstrate the annual savings specific to the house in question.
Although the tool is aimed at both the homeowner and the installer, Baxi feels it has many benefits for the installer.
Baxi head of product management Simon Osborne said: “The Baxi Boiler Efficiency Calculator at last provides the installer with more accurate facts and figures to take to their customer, highlighting the benefits of replacing their old and tired boiler. We are also putting the finishing touches on a function allowing installers to personalise and then print off the savings details, enabling them to use it as part of their quote.
“Even for those homeowners who use the tool at home, independent of an installer, the site directs them to the ‘find a local Baxi installer’ tool”.
Mr Osborne goes on to say: “The launch of this calculator is just one more step forward in Baxi’s commitment to driving energy efficiency within the home in the UK.”
