£43m in ProCure 21+ health projects for Miller

Miller hps has won four projects for southern hospitals worth a total of £43m through the ProCure 21+ framework.

The projects will be for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, Purley Memorial Hospital in Croydon, Teddington Memorial Hospital, and St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

Miller hps will manage the contracts, while Miller Construction will deliver them. A variety of services will be administered across the contracts, listed fully below.

Miller Construction CEO Chris Webster said health was a “key market” for the firm.

He continued: “We have been selective in the projects that we have bid through the framework, ensuring that we are able to provide the best solutions for the Trusts.  Our ability to provide end-to-end services and solutions is a key differentiator for us and drives our health care offering.”

Miller hps director Andrew Cartwright said the firm will be “working closely with the Trusts involved to drive efficiencies, provide quality for money and ultimately improve services for staff and users alike”.

The projects consist of:

  • At Stanmore, the £8m contract involves infrastructure enabling works, in advance of a future PFI project, with work due to begin in November.
  • Purley Memorial Hospital, which is a community health facility, will undergo a £11.5m refurbishment, with some areas remaining operational throughout the project, due to start in October.
  • The Teddington contract is for a small works programme to refurbish two wards and the main entrance, reception and waiting areas. The project will begin in June 2013.
  • St. George’s Hospital in Tooting will undergo multiple works, including the development of the Children’s hospital and a new helipad, due to begin in April 2013 and November this year, respectively.
