Darron Littlehales (pictured left) has been appointed to the post of managing director at Nottingham based electrical and mechanical engineers, Goodmarriott and Hursthouse.
The move coincides with a change of role for Trevor Hursthouse who has become chairman.
Goodmarriott and Hursthouse is part of the European Imtech group.
Speaking at a presentation to staff, group CEO Jim Steele said: “Imtech is already the largest mechanical and electrical engineering contractor in Germany and it’s anticipated that by 2010 the European construction and engineering sector will worth around £60 billion.
“We intend to position Goodmarriott and Hursthouse so that it can play an increasingly important role in this fast growing sector of the economy.”
As his appointment was announced, Darron Littlehales, thanked Mr Hursthouse for his contribution to the firm.
“Like me he joined as an apprentice, and now after 17 years as managing director, he hands over a quality company with a motivated staff and an excellent reputation.
“We’re delighted he will stay on to help raise the profile of the group and support our business development plan.”
