Mitie bosses in the dock over site death

Three senior Mitie Engineering Services employees went on trial this week accused of contravening the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Managing director William Mitchell, operations director Scott Wallace and technical services manager Ian Storrar were brought before Dundee Sheriff Court after an electrician was killed while carrying out m&e work on the JJB Sports centre in the city.

Twenty-six-year-old Michael Adamson was electrocuted in 2005 after touching a cable marked ‘not in use’, the Court heard.
