Meier refocus

Walter Meier has made seven staff redundant at its Solihull headquarters as it moves away from single-split system air conditioners and focuses on applied air conditioning and humidification products.

The company is now recruiting sales engineers for the applied air conditioning side of its business which saw sales increase by 26 per cent over the last year.

Mike Slattery, managing director, said: “The UK single-split market has now evolved to a point where added value engineering support is less important than price and this is at odds with Walter Meier’s group strategy.”
