Kier Facilities Services will have a combined staff of 1,200 operating from offices in London, Cardiff, Basingstoke and Sheffield and a turnover of around £120million when it is launched in November by parent company Kier Group.
It will specialise in providing a full range of hard and soft facilities services, building maintenance services and building engineering services, which can be integrated into a single contract.
The new business will be headed up by Colin Hale, who was appointed managing director of KMS earlier this year. He said: “This merger will enable us to provide a truly nationwide service to support clients. The formation of Kier Facilities Services is a significant step in our drive to compete in this marketplace at the highest level.
“KFS is equipped to offer a one-stop solution for the whole life-cycle of clients’ property requirements, from design and installation of building services to long-term care and maintenance of their built environment.”
He believes the new business will be able to combining Kier’s strengths in M&E design and installation, building services maintenance and facilities management.
