Industry quality shines at awards

On behalf of the H&V News Awards team I’d like to thank everyone for the many messages of appreciation and gratitude received since the presentation ceremony on 24 April.

The evening was enjoyed by many on a number of levels, it seems, in addition to the obvious delight of the winners of the various categories.

There were numerous positive comments on the networking opportunities at this year’s event due to the senior positions occupied by many attendees.

Compliments were also received on the standard of Jeremy Vine’s contribution, who attended at a few hours’ notice when the previous presenter was taken ill on the day. Mr Vine also expressed his enjoyment of the event through Twitter the next day, stating “Really enjoyed it - tremendous crowd”.

With more than 60 judges involved in the awards this year, allowing them to interview each finalist, compliments were also received on the high standards and calibre in evidence. While it is hoped that the majority will return, there will inevitably be a few unable to participate, so we will be looking to sign up building services engineers and association officers to take their place in the near future.

Preparations will soon begin for the 2015 awards, which will be held on 16 April next year and will open for entries at the end of September this year.
