Heatline jobs go as Vaillant restructures

Vaillant Group UK said some back-office redundancies will be made as it enters into consultation with staff over the restructuring of Heatline, the radiator, towel warmer and boiler specialist.

Vaillant Group UK took on the management of Heatline’s parent company DD Heating in August this year after Vaillant’s 229.5million euro takeover of DemirDöküm Fabrikalari last year.

It is now conducting a review of the business in the UK and undertaking a 30-day consultation with staff, which began earlier this week (November 3).

Jim Moore, Vaillant Group UK managing director, said: “Now we have taken over responsibility for DD Heating we want to make it as successful as possible.

“Heatline can offer us a very complementary presence in the UK – it is in a great position for radiators and towel warmers and we are very strong on boilers.

“We do need to look at the boiler range as there is an overlap with the products offered by Heatline. We need to decide what is our optimal range in the UK. It is too early to say where any redundancies will come from, but we are committed to the Heatline business, which has great strengths.”

Heatline will continue to operate from its Bedford facility but a number of back office positions are likely to transfer to Vaillant’s head office in Belper, Derbyshire.

Mr Moore said: “We have a strong belief in the future of Heatline in the UK and are rationalising the business and organisation now in order to build a sound and solid basis for growth in the future.”
