Green innovators struggle for finance

A survey by the EIC Environmental Investment Network shows 57 per cent of respondents affected by the recession.

The organisation which strives to link finance providers with green technology firms confirmed the funding gap and also revealed that 69 per cent of those surveyed felt the Government was not doing enough to incentivise the sector.

That said, only 8 per cent said they would initially approach Government for funding, which the EIN felt was due to a perception among entrepreneurs that access to government funding is too bureaucratic.

EIN carried out telephone interviews with 151 environmental technology developers.
