Grants for biomass conversion projects

Future Energy Yorkshire has grants available to fund projects demonstrating how oil or coal boilers can be converted to biomass.

This project is looking at how existing coal and oil fired boilers in good condition can be retrofitted so that they can burn wood pellet.

Suitable projects will be able to access grants of up to 50 per cent of the cost of the boiler conversion kit and labour. However, they are not available to fund new boiler systems.

A FEY spokesman said: “We are looking for businesses or public sector organisations with coal/oil fired boilers within their working life to apply for this funding.”
