SES is successfully weathering the downturn, continuing the progress that has seen its turnover grow by over 50 per cent in the past four years, while its project win success rate has increased from 1 in 5 to 1 in 2.8 projects.
The company was noted for its dedication to health and safety, with more than 200 site audits completed in 2009 and SES’s 85 per cent pass rate achieved on 95 per cent of sites.
SES’s commitment to training was also clear, the company employing more than 120 apprentices each trained to Technical Certificate and NVQ level 3.
An intranet site was also launched at the beginning of last year, providing employees with a means of communicating with each other and sharing information online.
Judges described SES as “a model business that is successful because it is customer-focused throughout”.
