Matrix MultiRoom is a fan coil-based product that uses a unique operational method. MultiRoom fan coils were designed to allow one larger fan coil to serve a number of small spaces or offices rather than the more common method of supplying a small fan coil for each space.
MultiRoom uses a conventional single return air sensor, but unconventionally has a supply air sensor in each discharge section. Each space also has a room set-point adjuster that allows each occupant to select their desired temperature.
Reading these temperatures and considering the varying demands, MultiRoom makes decisions about what to do with the single set of valves and speed of each fan. It firstly decides if it should be heating or cooling. If there are one or more cooling demands, it will go into cooling mode
and the largest temperature differential becomes the primary space.
Once the primary space is satisfied, the primary space is reassigned to the next highest demand. MultiRoom calculates how much air is required to satisfy the cooling demands before delivering that volume by varying the speed of each fan.
