Kayley Lockhead – NG Bailey
The second half of her apprenticeship saw Kayley work on a number of sites to gain project management experience, resulting in excellent feedback from NG Bailey colleagues and both main and subcontractors.
She is described as always being keen to take on extra responsibilities, resulting in her duties being extended far beyond those usually assigned to apprentices.
Examples of this have seen Kayley take on the roles of commissioning manager on the Chapeltown Lift project, assistant project engineer at St James Hospital and The Core (Leeds) and assistant quantity surveyor on the Menwith Hill military site.
Achieving an HND in Building Services, she received 14 distinctions and three merits, along with a letter of commendation from her college.
Kayley has also been awarded a West Yorkshire Work-Based Learning Award in the Construction and Built Environment Category and was highly commended in the National Apprenticeship Awards Advanced Apprentice of the Year 2010 and the NG Bailey outstanding BSE apprentice 2009.
