Euro role on refrigeration and air conditioning for UK managing director

HVCA council member Graeme Fox has been appointed to the board of the Air conditioning and Refrigeration European Association (AREA).

Mr Fox, managing director of Dundee based refrigeration supplier Specialist Mechanical Services, will be formally confirmed as a director at the organisation’s next General Assembly in the Autumn.

Frank Heuberger from Germany and Per Vemork, from Norway, will also join the board as treasurer and director respectively. They will join past president Jean Jacquin, vice president Attila Zoltan and president elect Gerhard Neuhauser.

The board has set four short- and medium-term aims:

1) Improving representation of the national associations in Brussels.

2) Preserving the interests of contractors, mainly with regard to the new legal challenges as well as the Directives on environment, health, safety and energy efficiency.

3) Harmonizing the levels of training.

4) Supporting the EU and national governments on environment policy.
