Boozy workers admit to botched jobs

A third of construction workers have gone to work with such a bad hangover they made mistakes which needed to be corrected the next day – according to a survey by a leading insurance company.

The report commissioned by Norwich Union Healthcare saw 1,000 interviews carried out at 250 businesses.

It revealed 24 per cent of those questioned in the construction industry had been drunk at work – the second worst sector after those working in the media.

Researchers found that 20 per cent of construction workers went to work with a hang over once a week, while 41 per cent admitted their alcohol use threatened the health and safety of themselves and others.
