Balfour Kilpatrick wins oil deal

Balfour Kilpatrick has been awarded a £5.2m electrical and instrumentation contract at Lindsey Oil’s hydrotreater plant at its Immingham refinery.

These works will be delivered to the client, Jacobs Engineering.

Lindsey Oil Refinery is the third largest oil refinery in the country processing 10 million tons of crude per annum. Part of the Total Group, it was established in the 1960s and is situated five miles from the Humber River estuary.

Its geographic position allows it to take advantage of discoveries in the North Sea and Lindsey Oil Refinery was the first refinery in the UK to process North Sea Oil.

The purpose of this unit is to reduce the sulphur, nitrogen, and aromatic hydrocarbons to acceptable levels to allow subsequent processing of the gas oil in a conventional refinery catalytic cracker or hydrocracker.
