The Scottish Government is looking to appoint a managing agent to deliver Stage 4 of the Energy Assistance Package under a three year £150 million contract.
The agent will conduct eligibility surveys and oversee the installation of central heating measures in households with poor energy efficiency or suffering from fuel poverty across all areas of Scotland from April 2010 to March 2013.
An optional two year extension is also available to the contractor.
It is expected that the project will receive up to £40m of funding every year to assist around 10,000 households with Stage 4 measures.
Reporting directly to the government, the managing agent will be wholly responsible for vetting, appointing, monitoring the performance of any local agents or sub-contractors.
Between five and six firms will be invited to tender in October.
The deadline for pre-qualification questionnaires is 24 August.
