AECOM and Steensen Varming take the honours

AECOM and Steensen Varming were the inaugural winners of the Cibse Young Engineers Network Champions Award which was unveiled last night at the Royal Academy of Engineering in London.

AECOM landed the award for best large company encouraging young engineers and Steensen Varming, from Sydney Australia, won the award for best small company.

Paul Hardy, managing director of sponsor Baxi Commercial said: “We were keen to sponsor this award which rewards firms that are developing the industry’s next generation of engineers.

“Together manufacturers and engineers face stiff challenges in the coming years, such as grappling with the implications of the EuP Directive and we need to develop our skills to meet the challenge.”

Cibse organised the event in partnership with the Arkwright Scholarships Trust, which is seeking sponsors for its 2010 Scholarships and to work in schools promoting engineering.
