ACE hails Brown’s 'change agenda'

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) has welcomed Gordon Brown’s commitment to an agenda of change. Speaking after the announcement of a new cabinet, ACE chief executive, Nelson Ogunshakin said: “We are particularly pleased with the renewed emphasis on skills and innovation for industry, signalled by a new ministry for innovation, universities and skills. 'This is a move which chimes perfectly with ACE’s ambitions for a highly skilled workforce to deliver the UK’s construction and infrastructure development plans and also to give the UK a competitive edge in the global market.” Mr Ogunshakin added that although he was pleased to see cabinet level representation for housing and the Olympics, he was still hoping that construction would be allotted its own minister when junior appointments were made by Gordon Brown over the next 48 hours.
