£5million pot for renewables in Yorkshire and Humber

A total of £5million in funding is available for renewable electricity generation projects in the Yorkshire and Humber area.

Future Energy Yorkshire, an arms length programme for investment in new and renewable energy set up by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, has announced the latest round of funding is now open to applications.

A spokesman said: “The funding is in three streams: emerging renewable technologies, flagship projects and community ownership of renewables.

“To be eligible, the generation must be in the Yorkshire and Humber region and connected to the national electricity grid.  The selection procedure will be competitive and a key selection factor will be the amount of carbon dioxide savings per pound bid.”

Funding will be subject to the EU rules on state aid.
