New £150m Cambridgeshire PFI hospital up for grabs
Firms are being invited to bid for a £150 million PFI deal to build a new Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire.
As well as the construction of a new hospital, which will specialise in cardiothoracic medicine and surgery, the 33 year contract also covers maintenance and essential services such as cleaning and catering.
Once a preferred bidder is appointed the project will then be subject to a funding competition but the Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust may provide some capital funding.
Up to four contractors will be invited to tender for the job. Interested firms have until 22 September to submit pre-qualification questionnaires.
