Flogas invests £100,000 in telemetry system

Flogas has invested nearly £100,000 in a new telemetry system as part of a nationwide trial to improve customer deliveries throughout the winter period.

The telemetry system gathers data from hundreds of Flogas units via a GSM signal and lets head office know when a customer’s tank needs to be topped up.

With this new system, exact tank volumes can be recorded, ensuring Flogas customers will only ever receive a delivery when needed, and any changes in customer consumption patterns can be identified immediately.

The first phase of the nationwide trial has been completed in the Cornwall area, with the second scheduled to finish in January. Customers in remote areas and those who require a high volume of LPG have been the first to take advantage of the new system.

James Rudman, Technical Services Director at Flogas, said: “At Flogas, we pride ourselves on being able to provide our customers with the very best technology, and that’s why we’ve invested in a new system.”

“The trial has already shown some great results and the new system will allow us to provide a better delivery service to our customers, especially during the winter period.”
