WINNER: Partnering Initiative of the Year 2010

Lochinvar and Rayotec have made substantial efforts to promote the most effective method of using renewable solar technology in conjunction with traditional high efficiency hot water generators.

Their initiative combined the expertise of the two companies within their own specialist areas - namely solar hot water systems and direct gas-fired water heaters. The partnership offered integrated packages specifically tailored for each individual application, combined with comprehensive levels of communication and feedback to help develop the initiative.

The judges recognised the work on the Hartcliffe Community Centre in Bristol, where a 12-collector solar installation was installed to provide pre-heated feed water for two Lochinvar LBF300 water heaters.

Both companies’ revenue has increased from additional sales following the collaboration, and, through regular review meetings between partner companies covering customer feedback and new initiatives, they anticipate further progress this year.

The judges described the partnership as “a true demonstration of two companies working for
the greater good”.

“Partnerships have never been more important - only by working together can HVAC companies come up with truly innovative solutions to heating and cooling buildings in an energy-efficient way”
