WINNER: Domestic H&V product of the Year 2010

IntaEco has taken solar heating forward with its patented IntaSol that allows solar hot water systems to
be integrated with existing high-efficiency boilers.

Solar heating requires hot water to be stored before use and generally uses a conventional boiler arrangement to supplement the heat on days when solar energy does not raise water to a useable temperature.

IntaSol is a control valve that allows a solar heating system to be installed as part of a combi boiler system, supplementing solar energy to provide hot water on demand. IntaSol manages water supply to outlet, either direct from the solar cylinder or heated through the combi boiler to deliver hot water at safe, usable temperatures, minimising the use of energy for temperature uplift.

The product incorporates TMV2 thermostatic valves, so that hot water passing through it to outlet is at safe temperatures. It blends cold water with the hot for safety and will deal with the high temperatures that solar hot water can reach during sunny periods.

IntaSol will allow the retrofit of solar to an existing combi instead of having to invest in a new boiler, and also allows for the economic and environmental benefits of hot water on demand in new installations.

Judges labelled it “a product that will help consumers to make their homes more energyefficient in the future”.

“The domestic product arena is hugely competitive, and reaching the shortlist of these awards offers a definite competitive edge”
