WINNER: Domestic heating contractor of the Year 2010
CHS has demonstrated wide-ranging expansion and development over the past 12 months.
The company has built on its social housing customer base while also exploring opportunities in the private sector, such as its extended warranty scheme and bespoke boiler and system service and maintenance plan.
Other new areas of work include legionella testing, asbestos survey checks and PAT testing. CHS has further developed its IT systems using an in-house development team. Every process for handling a job is processed by its service management system, while each service, breakdown, out-of-hours callout or installation is recorded electronically using the company’s Mobile Engineer software on every engineer’s PDA.
The company is now Microgeneration Certification Scheme-registered to ensure its commitment to provide quality renewable technology installation and help customers obtain grant funding. Its fleet vehicle management system installed in all vehicles, is part of the system Greenfleet - a carbon calculator that can determine the carbon footprint of a fleet to encourage greener driving.
Investment has also been made to turn CHS’s current training centre into a standalone 5,000 sq ft training facility, providing ACS training and assessment. This forms just one part of the company’s ongoing ambitions for further development.
The judges said CHS “demonstrated professionalism, skill and a firm grasp on the importance of training”.
