Industrial/Commercial Heating Product of the Year

The company’s Neatpump was regarded by the judges as a worthy winner for its ability to capture waste heat from cooling or refrigeration processes, which is then boosted to produce hot water of up to 90 deg C. It uses naturally occurring ammonia as a refrigerant, with zero global warming effect.

Combined with the Vilter single screw compressor, Neatpump offers reduced maintenance requirements, balanced forces that reduce wear on bearings and automatic capacity control. It is designed to work in a variety of settings, with standard packages available of between 500 kW to 7.5 MW, with multiple units installed to deliver higher capacities.

The system has been designed to use the warmest possible source of heat for the lowest delivery temperature to deliver savings in running costs of up to 40 per cent. The company states that it is possible to achieve a COP of more than 3, making it cheaper than gas with less than 60 per cent of the carbon footprint.
