J S Wright’s establishment of a wide range of initiatives and support to encourage personal development among its employees impressed the judges. In addition to these, the company has also continued to invest in its own infrastructure, including the purchase of 3D modelling software, along with additional technology to allow improved reporting by site-based contracts engineers.
As well as a complete overhaul of its tender return documentation, the company has also improved links with educational establishments and launched The Green Standard, its annual newsletter, designed to keep customers and staff up to date with sustainability issues.
It has an impressive record of apprentice recruitment, providing extensive training in the company’s JSW Academy. This was established to increase the technical skills and confidence of apprentices through offsite training and adventure activities. J S Wright has also introduced both employee welfare and health and safety measures, including on-site CPR training.
