H&V News Awards a ‘storming success’

This year’s H&V News Awards took place before a packed assembly of the HVAC industry in the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, receiving a rapturous reception from those present.

The event was hosted by actor and comedian Alexander Armstrong, who was joined on stage by sponsors and judges to announce the winners and hand over the trophies.

The evening attracted an attendance of just under 1,000 people, once again supporting the view that it remains one of the industry’s ‘must attend’ events.

Winners on the evening included a diverse mixture of companies and two individuals.

The Gold Award, sponsored by HVCA, went to Tony Bowen, president of the Heat Pump Association and Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by Vokera, was won by Sam Buckley, Ideal Heating.

Other winners on the night included installers and contractors such as J S Wright & Co, HVAC Contractor of the Year; New Charter Housing Trust, Environmental Initiative of the Year; BSW Heating, Service & Maintenance Initiative of the Year; Govan, Rural Heating Installer of the Year; and T Brown Group, Outstanding Contribution.

Scott Craig, sales and marketing director of headline sponsor Pipe Center, also gave a brief presentation on the night, praising the event and welcoming all attendees.

H&V News editor Dennis Flower said: “The evening was a storming success and we’ve received great feedback from everyone.

“It’s a great honour to be involved in such a well regarded industry event.

“Many thanks to our judges and sponsors for their highly valuable – and much valued – input.”
