CEN seeks contractors for £40m of installation work

CEN Services is seeking contractors for installer group 2010-2012, which has been valued at up to £40 million.

Work to be carried out includes installation of gas central heating, oil central heating, LPG central heating, electric central heating, air-to-water heat pumps, loft, cavity and solid wall insulation, park home insulation, draught proofing, glazing, water-saving measures, and solid fuel biomass boilers and stoves.

CEN is also looking to select preferred sub-contractors of work including scaffolding, licensed asbestos removal, heavy plant operation, and roofing work.

CEN operate a number of grant schemes on behalf of the 25 Local Authorities in South London and Kent, administering grants of £3,000-£6,000 to the 'fuel poor' by utilising funding provided by the Local Authorities’ Environmental Health Department.

The contract will run from October 2010 for two years.

Firms have until 4 June to submit pre-qualification questionnaires with up to 40 contractors invited to tender on 14 June.
