Purchase heads new heat pump firm Cirrus Energi
Former Viessmann managing director Stewart Purchase has taken on the role of managing director at new renewables specialist Cirrus Energi.
The company is subsidiary of leading UK ground source heat pump supplier and installer, Geothermal International - which won an H&V News Award this year.
It will concentrate on providing air to water heat pump solutions from 6kW up to 400kW, alongside other renewable heating products such as solar thermal.
Mr Purchase, who also runs his own renewable energy consultancy, said: “I am extremely excited by the prospect of managing and being a part of this new company. Its focus will be to offer practical and pragmatic heating and cooling solutions based on air-to-water heat pumps, by giving a comprehensive service to potential customers, including local authorities and housing associations, architects and consulting engineers, installers and end users.
“We intend to provide low carbon solutions with low running costs and to champion the use of air source technologies that, in my opinion, have a huge potential in every sector.
“Our partners have a range of high quality products, ready to deliver high performance and high seasonal COP’s, but remaining cost focused.”
Geothermal International chief executive Brian Davidson said: “We are very enthusiastic about the addition of Cirrus Energi to the group and are pleased to have Stewart on board. We are confident that this new initiative will quickly grow into a company that will contribute greatly and be a valuable addition to the Geothermal International group.”
Cirrus Energi, based in Shrewsbury, has an exclusive agreement with a major Italian manufacture of air source heat pumps.
The company will provide a turnkey solution suitable for home-owners, housing associations, local authorities and small businesses, up to larger scale systems for bigger developments requiring individual outputs of up to 400kW for heating and cooling.
